A team of nurses provide a range of services for
minor injuries - immunisations
- blood tests
- health checks
- blood pressure testing
- cervical smears
- ear syringing
- travel clinics.
They run clinics for
- asthma
- diabetes
- heart disease
- quit smoking advice and support.
Contraception
All the doctors give advice on contraception. All consultations are confidential, regardless of age. If you need emergency contraception you can phone to make an appointment. Dr Warrington holds a Family Planning clinic on Mondays between 5.00 and 6.00pm.
Pregnant
When you are pregnant you will receive regular care from your usual doctor and midwife before and after your baby is born.
Health Visitors
The Health Visitors run a baby and child health clinic at Knowle Clinic, to make an appointment telephone 0117 9190200. They advise on all aspects of child development and health issues up to the age of 5. You can contact them directly by telephone on the above telephone number.
Immunisations
It is important to keep up to date with your immunisations to avoid serious illnesses. You can make an appointment for the treatment or come to one of these clinics:
- Baby and Child Immunisations Thursday afternoons We will invite your child to attend when they reach the age for their immunisation
- Flu jabs - we will invite you to attend for a flu immunisation if you are aged over 65 or have an illness that would be made worse if you caught flu Travel
- If you are going abroad, you can arrange an appointment with a Treatment Room nurse for advice on any immunisations you may require.
District Nurses
If you are unable to attend the surgery for nursing care, the District Nurses may visit you at home.
Drug and Alcohol Services
If you feel you have any problems about drink or drugs your doctor may be able to refer you on to specialist services. The practice follows the South Bristol Methadone protocol where all patients receiving methadone on prescription must see a Drugs Worker.
Minor Surgery
Some minor procedures are carried out at the surgery. The doctor will advise you.
